Sometimes it takes an illness or a tragedy for us to realize how fortunate we really are, or how we take the little things in life for granted like friendships, family, health and happiness.  We rarely stop to take the time to appreciate our lives and all who are in them.  I have been blessed by a second chance and my eyes have been opened to all of the wonderful people I have in my life.  I never knew they were all around me or I just didn’t take the time to realize it. That will no longer happen.  It is humbling to know that I do not stand alone in this fight against breast cancer  but in the mighty company of all who stand at my side.

The ladies of WMAF are karate warriors but are also Commitment Warriors.  I have been a member of WMAF for 5 years and my name is Renee Minster.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July of 2007 and it changed my life forever.  But I am a survivor and for that I am grateful.  On October 3 – 5, Sensei Karen, Lisa, Marielle, Jane, Kristie and I will begin a 3 – Day journey over 60 –miles through Washington D.C.  The Breast Cancer 3 – Day is a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it.  I am thankful for their friendship, support and love.
What an amazing extended family I have.  I feel very blessed to have them in my life and my children’s lives.  I am grateful.  They are a strong foundation. Thank you WMAF for helping me through this journey!  Thank you Shihan Williams for supporting our efforts.  We are the Commitment Warriors!

Please help us raise enough money to make a difference.  After all, a CURE is PRICELESS!
